Reflections on culture, faith and the good news of Jesus as the kingdom of God comes to Oxford and Ole Miss. "For Christ's love compels us..." II Corinthians 5:14

A shout out to my "green" friends!

We woke up to clouds and rain this morning and I wondered if I had made a mistake. We were treated to sunshine and warm air for a little bit and I began to feel better. And then the cold front came through bringing clouds and cold to our PICK UP OXFORD event and I felt the twinge of despair. :(

But we had a few brave folks brave the cold in our pilot event to make Oxford a little cleaner in the name of Jesus. Some of our students got encouraging honks from drivers and one lady even made an effort to say "thank you."

A heartfelt thanks to Lendy (and McKay and Sam!), Alison, Joanne, Corey, Wenlu, Matthew, Kathy, Ki Tae and Nick for your service. We covered the student center reservoir, part of Jackson and College Hill. We're looking to serve again on April 18th. Stay tuned!

the morning in the cold wind to do the cleanup reminded me of abraham. it seemed very easy to change mind about doing the cleanup that morning with the weather as it was. and, the sunshine and pretty sky was very nice to see later on. i felt like it was easier to see that as a blessing from God after maybe passing the test from the morning.
